Gaits and rider motion
On the right canter lead, the left hind lands first, then right hind with left fore, then right fore. The leading foreleg is the last foreleg to land. This three-beat model takes 0.59 seconds per stride at 4.4 m/s, covering about 2.60 m before the pattern repeats.
Left versus right lead: changing lead exchanges the left and right limb roles. The diagonal pair shares a beat, and the following suspension completes the stride. A circle makes the leading leg's relation to the inside of the turn visible.
Following the canter: the sitting-rider model's pelvis moves through about 24.3° relative to the saddle. With its forward-lean setting, the range becomes about 38.1°. The change shows how the model redistributes motion when the rider's posture changes.
Canter saddle amplitudes include estimates because comparable measured saddle data are limited in the source set. Circle bending is also simplified; the About page identifies the competing models.
